Hormone Replacement Therapy & Hormone Balance

For Women

For Women

For Women

For women, the main sex hormones estrogen, progesterone and testosterone regulate several important bodily processes. During the pre-menopause years, there can be an imbalance in estrogen and progesterone causing menstrual issues. For women experiencing joint pain, testosterone can be helpful in pain management. Hormone balance is not just for menopausal women.

Women begin to produce less of these hormones as they age, which can start as early as someone's mid 20s or early 30s. Most women see a significant drop in hormones during menopause and perimenopause.

Because of their essential role in the body, even the smallest hormonal imbalance can cause side effects throughout the body. This is an ideal time to discuss bioidentical hormone replacement strategies. We begin with an in-depth consultation to determine what your symptoms are, assess hormone labs and then discuss various options including creams, gels, patches, oral hormones and hormone pellets.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, call us to schedule a hormone consult:

fatigue, menstrual heavy bleeding or excess cramping, joint pain, frozen shoulder, menopausal hot flushes, night sweats, weight gain, hair loss, insomnia, mood swings, brain fog, low libido, pain with sexual activity, vaginal dryness, recurrent urinary tract infections or a general sense of not feeling like yourself.

For Men

For Women

For Women

Hormones regulate body processes in men, including reproductive function., energy, athletic performance and metabolism. Men synthesize the hormones estrogen, progesterone and testosterone as well, testosterone being the dominant hormone for healthy functioning. Testosterone is made in the testes,  and helps to maintain bone density, fat distribution, muscle strength, facial hair, red blood cell production, sperm production and sex drive.

For men, testosterone can diminish as early as their 20s or 30s.  By the time men get into their 40s, they are losing 1% a year. Hormonal imbalances occur when there is too much or too little of a hormone in the bloodstream.  Because of their essential role in the body, even the smallest hormonal imbalance can cause side effects throughout the body.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, call us to schedule a hormone consult:

fatigue, low libido, erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle mass, weight gain around the torso, mood swings, depression, anxiety, brain fog, elevated blood sugars, high cholesterol and an overall sense of low vitality.

The BioTE Way

The BioTE® Method of Hormone Optimization

We are a Certified Provider of the BioTE Method of hormone optimization therapy. We offer patient-centric strategies to optimize hormones and extend health spans for both women and men.  We work with each of our patients on an ongoing basis to analyze symptoms and lab results using a specially designed dosing algorithm to develop a unique treatment plan.

What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy?

The BioTE method of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy uses custom-compounded pellets (approximately the size of a grain of rice) that contain doses of testosterone and estrogen for women and testosterone for men. These hormones are bioidentical to those already present in the body and work to restore hormones to optimal levels. The pellets are placed under the skin and release a continuous stream of hormones as the body needs them. Once inserted, the pellets dissolve slowly, so that they only need to be re-administered every 4-6 months depending on the patient.

If you're interested in the BioTE pellet method, please schedule an initial consultation to see if this is a good fit for you. We will listen to your symptoms and do labs to check your current hormone levels. Then we will put all that information together in an algorithm which will help us decide on dosages.
